Midtown East Manhattan, New York City, USA
An outstanding Foster +Â Partners designed 63-storey residential tower in the heart of Manhattan's Midtown Cultural District, with 94 superb apartments ranging from studios to a magnificent 4-bedroom duplex penthouse.
Led by architect Norman Foster, One Hundred East Fifty Third Street, developed by RFR and Shenzhen-based Vanke, is New York's newest modernist architectural landmark, offering generously proportioned residences, seamlessly integrated with infrastructure for modern cosmopolitan living.
Constructed to the highest standards, the interiors cleverly conceal service functions and finishes include a mix of 8-inch-wide American white oak and diamond polished high-grade concrete flooring; near 11 feet (over 3 metres) high floor to ceiling windows which make the most of the soaring city views and allow sunlight to flood the rooms; and exposed finished concrete is to be used prominently in the lofts, the ideal background for displaying art within the generously proportioned open plan living spaces. LED lighting is to be installed throughout.
All 94 homes are uniquely attuned to the diverse needs of sophisticated urban dwellers, and they accommodate varying family sizes and entertaining styles, among other preferences.
All kitchens are to be fitted in Foster + Partners designed millwork with integrated Gaggenau appliances; painstakingly crafted finishes that will never cease to surprise and delight.
Selected Tower and Loft Residence master bathrooms will be fitted with a freestanding Apaiser bath tub, steam shower and heated radiant flooring and Silver Striato travertine countertops with integrated sink (honed finish). The powder rooms will incorporate Aquabrass brushed-nickel faucets atop Agora stone vanities.
Acclaimed Michelin-starred Chef Joel Robuchon will occupy the first two levels of One Hundred East Fifty Third Street, with a gourmet marketplace on the ground level, and a fine dining restaurant on the second. Joseph Dirand, the award-winning architect and interior designer, will head the design.
Residents will have exclusive access to in-residence dining in addition to reservation and seating privileges at the restaurant. Quintessentially Lifestyle will provide high-end, hotel concierge-level services to the residents of One Hundred East Fifty Third Street. From anywhere in the world, residents will enjoy highly personalised 24/7 lifestyle management services courtesy of a team of dedicated Lifestyle Managers who will come to understand residents unique tastes and preferences, and proactively anticipate their needs.
Celebrated interior designer and architect William T. Georgis contributes additional warmth and comfort to the interiors with a selection of furnishings for both the amenity spaces and the 24-hour attended residential lobby. Hotel-like amenities include a 60-foot sunlit swimming pool, wellness centre, spa, yoga and Pilates rooms, library and lounges.

Vibrant, exciting and bursting with brash attitude, New York is one of the world’s favourite cities, a place where anything seems possible and simply walking even a few blocks becomes an exhilarating experience.
With space in seriously short supply New York developers are eyeing the sky, building ever higher and often slimmer towers to house the never-ending demand for their city. There are also low-level options though including the charming architecture of Brooklyn that lies across the East River from Manhattan or among the brownstones of The West Village.
Midtown East
Midtown East is home to iconic skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building, Rockefeller Center, and United Nations Headquarters. This timeless, architecturally important neighbourhood is at the heart of it all, while its serene, tree-lined cross streets house some of Manhattan’s most prestigious and sought-after residential buildings.
The sleek construction of the neighbourhood attracts New Yorkers who want to walk to work, then revel in the city’s best shopping, dining, and culture, all without hopping on a subway. The elegant buildings and lovely streets offer the upscale feel of the Upper East Side, but are more convenient to Downtown.
From the world-renowned shopping of Fifth Avenue to people-watching at Rockefeller Center, Midtown East is filled to the brim with picture-postcard New York City moments. The nexus of the neighbourhood is Grand Central Station, one of the most historic landmarks of public transportation in the country.
Bryant Park is a popular hub in Midtown no matter the time of year. During the summer, people gather for yoga classes, outdoor movie screenings, and picnics. Come winter, neighbours spend afternoons ice skating here.
The Midtown East scene is a bit more refined than Lower East Side and Brooklyn; with the Museum of Modern Art, the Morgan Library, and the main branch of the New York Public Library, you’ll never be at a loss for top-tier cultural attractions. Michelin-starred eateries like Daniel and The Modern are plentiful.
With an array of stately pre-war towers and sleek full-service high-rises, there are lots of options in Midtown East, particularly at the higher end of the market. Classic townhouses provide even more options for spacious luxury homes. Â
